The Great Lakes Conference is a network of Brethren in Christ congregations located in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
As part of the BIC U.S., we facilitate church planting, hiring and supporting local pastors, and developing ministry initiatives within the Great Lakes Conference.
Meet Bishop Lynn Thrush
Lynn began serving as bishop of the Great Lakes Conference in 2016.
He graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with a master of divinity degree and received a doctor of ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Lynn served the Fairview Avenue BIC congregation, Waynesboro, Pa., as senior pastor for 13 years and the Gateway Community BIC Church, Chino, Calif., as senior pastor for 25 years.
Lynn taught at Azusa Pacific University as an adjunct professor for 12 years and has been an instructor for several BIC U.S. Directed Study Program courses. He is author of the book Soaring Hope: Imagining Life As It Ought To Be.
Lynn and Carol have four grown children, two grandchildren, and they live near Dayton, Ohio.
So that the Church is faithful in God’s mission to bless all the families of the earth, the Great Lakes Conference encourages pastors, boards, and congregations to increase their competency, capacity, and connections.
